(4) Pumpkin Spice Truffle: rich filling of organic pumpkin and traditional spice, boosted with fortifying turmeric, maca, and cordyceps

“As above, so Below,” are words from the “Emerald Tablet” of Hermes Trismegistus, a legendary ancient Egyptian sage. The “Tablet” is generally considered to be the foundational work of alchemy. Describing so many heavenly and earthly phenomena, “As above, so Below” is the concept that inspired our newest creation - the Autumn Truffle Duo, launched on the Autumn Equinox.

The vivid-hued pumpkin in its Pumpkin Spice Truffle, and the syrupy elderberry in the Mabon Truffle, are both nourished from above by Earth’s Star. The dark velvet ganache of the Mabon Truffle is infused with medicinal fungi nurtured by the terra firma, below, and pays tribute to a Celtic sun god, who also gave his name to the week of Mabon harvest festivals held ‘round the world at this time of the autumnal equinox. That’s the time when the sun is, for a moment, directly above the Equator, and day from above, and night from below, are of equal lengths. The cashew based Pumpkin Spice crème domes boast an impressive nutrient profile. Back for their eleventh year, the Truffle celebrates an auspicious anniversary, since, according to Greek numerology, eleven is revered as a master number with a powerful presence in the cosmos, above.

The Mabon Truffle’s mushrooms spring from their mycelium roots, the network of threads from which they’ve grown. Those roots give new meaning to “below” since the generally vast networks of mycelium allow trees to share nutrients and warn each other about droughts, pests and disease. In 1997, it was found that trees communicate with each other using those networks. Our Mabon Truffle thus pays tribute to this “Wood Wide Web!”

The Autumn Truffle Duo, then, is the taste of transition, of evolution both planetary and personal, as our spirits are inspired and nourished by realms above so that we may grow, heal, and help on the solid firmament here, below.
